Por su pasado nazi, UFC le rescinde contrato a peleador que debutaría en la Fight Island

Ad portas de cumplir un gran sueño, el anhelo de debutar en UFC del peleador alemán Timo Feucht se desmoronó a menos de una semana.

A diferencia de lo que normalmente ocurre, como lesiones, positivo para doping o que no dio el peso para la pelea, en esta ocasión los motivos que censuraron a este peleador de 24 años fueron razones ajenas a lo deportivo.

Según información de MMA Fighting, UFC tomó la decisión de rescindirle contrato a Feucht por haber participado en un grupo y en manifestaciones neonazis, que incurrieron en varios delitos.

Al parecer, el peleador hizo parte de un ataque al distrito Connewitz en la ciudad alemana de Leipzig el 11 de enero de 2016 y, junto a 214 personas, fue arrestado por los desmanes.

El grupo alemán antinazi Runter von der Matter informó que Feucht también estuvo inmiscuido en otra ofensiva en la que un grupo neonazi atacó a miembros del grupo antirracista BSG Chemie Leipzig.

Runter von der Matter, conjunto de personas que velan porque en las artes marciales no participen, ni se difundan ideas neonazis, resaltó que ‘Teddy’ Feucht ha hecho parte de la escena hooligan de extrema derecha de la ciudad de Leipzig.

En medio de las actuaciones en las que participó Feucht hubo ataques con pirotecnia explosiva, gases pimienta, hachas y cuchillos. Además, estos fanáticos irrumpieron en tiendas, restaurantes y pubs, rompiendo vidrios y algunos elementos que se encontraban a su paso.

Cuando se anunció que pelearía en la cartelera de esta noche ante Kenneth Bergh en la UFC Fight Island, en Abu Dhabi, se alzaron las voces de rechazo, que conllevaron a suspender su participación en este evento y en general de los eventos de UFC.

What makes me sad is that it is because of things I did when I was 19 years old that I should lose the dream of my life even though I have long moved on from what was in the past. I clearly would like to state that I never had any extreme political opinion, but I was a teenager who was young and dumb. Now, I have an Arabic Muslim family member that I am very close with and I train with people from all religions and walks of life. I have an international coaching staff made of Albanians, Brazilians, Russians and Swedes. There is just one thing that I’m asking for: Please don’t judge me based on things that happened almost five years ago. I was immature and hanging with the wrong crowd. Please see what I have sacrificed to make it here. Please see the man I have become. I discovered Martial Arts and that has saved my life. The sport has led me onto the right path. “Sí, hice cosas en el pasado de las que no estoy orgulloso … pero hubo momentos que me llevaron a reconsiderar quién quería ser en la vida”, expresó el peleador.

Feucht ostenta actualmente un récord de ocho peleas ganadas (cuatro por nocaut o nocaut técnico y cuatro por sumisión) y tan solo una derrota.
